Significant research has been conducted on the effects of teaching style on student achievement. However, many of these studies have involved secondary teaching and learning environments. Little research in this area has been conducted at the postsecondary level, and even less involves studies of technical college faculty and students. This study analyzed the teaching styles of core and occupational faculty in a technical college setting, a unique educational environment that blends academic and vocational or occupational subjects.
